Flexible displays - News, Rumours, CES , Ads and Some Tests on them

Flexible displays is the most expected feature of the upcoming Android mobile phones of 2013. Samsung has already started developing the Smartphones with flexible displays. The rumored phones with flexible displays are Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

“Foldable, rollable, wearable and more, [and] will allow for a high degree of durability through their use of a plastic substrate that is thinner, lighter and more flexible than… conventional LCD technology,” a preventative of the South Korean firm explained to PC Advisor.

Rumours said that the resolution of Galaxy S4 would be 1920 x 1080p (pixel density 441ppi), a new trend for android mobile phones of 2013. In addition, this mobile phone will use the 13MP camera, 2GB RAM and a quad-core processor Cortex-A15 processor clocked at 2GHz.

Samsung Display will showcase two flexible displays at the CES next month. One of them is catered toward TV sets and comes with a diagonal of 55 inches and second one – it’s a 5.5-inch display that supports 1280×720 pixels resolution.

Apparently, these screens can be bent but they cannot be rolled up completely. We don’t mind that, but we will mind if we don’t get a release date in Vegas. Let me remind you that we’ve already heard rumors that Samsung may use unbreakable displays in its upcoming Galaxy phones and a screen like this one could be something we’ve been waiting for. We keep hoping that a Samsung phone or tablet with flexible display will be unveiled at some point next year.

These all were about the official news and some rumors about the Flexible displays. Now lets check out some Ads about these displays by Samsung and also we shall see the bending and hammer test on these Flexible displays in the below video.
