Top 5 4K Video Recording Smartphones



1. iPhone 6s Plus


The hottest iteration in the iPhone series has a much-needed improvement to offer in terms of primary camera resolution. The old 8MP sensor was updated to a 12MP sensor with 1.22-micron pixels, while the lens is now 5-element piece with an aperture of f/2.2. The iPhone 6s series can shoot 30fpsvideos at a resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels). On top of that, it also supports 1080p video capture at 120fps, or 720p capture at 240fps, frame rates that allow for some radical slow-motion effects.

2. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium


The new Sony Xperia Z5 family, comes with 4K recording abilities, which is hardly surprising given that the feat was available on last year's Xperia Z3 family as well. The flagship smartphone Sony Xperia Z5 Premium comes with new 23MP 1/2.3" Exmor RS sensors. Furthermore, it also comes with hardware OIS system that Sony markets as the SteadyShot Intelligent Active Mode, as well as blazing-fast hybrid autofocus system. The Xperia Z5 Premium is the only smartphone out there that lets you view 4K videos at their native resolution.

3. Samsung Galaxy S6


The Samsung Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy S6 edge+, and the Galaxy Note5 all come with 16MP primary sensors with phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization. 4K video capture is done with clear audio recordings, continuous autofocus, great color reproduction and all of the details that fit inside a 3840 x 2160 pixel matrix.

4. LG G4

 
The LG G4 features a 16MP 1/2.6" primary sensor with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization. LG G4’s 4K video capture yields produces good results overall, with lots of detail, no brutal shakes, and low digital noise in low light conditions.

5. Huawei Nexus 6P


Huawei Nexus 6P come with 12.3MP Sony sensors with an aperture of f/2.0 and large 1.55-micron pixels. The sensors are actually capable of shooting 4K video at 60fps per second, but current-generation smartphone chips, including the Snapdragon 808 and the Snapdragon 810 - are limited at 60fps.

Lenovo Vibe Shot - A metal smartphone with 16MP triple-tone flash camera

Lenovo is continuing the style of turning its mobile artillery into multimedia dynamos with the new Vibe Shot. This smartphone has the jagged looks of the company's Vibe Z handsets - elegant aluminium and colorful frames - and it houses a 16MP camera with a BSI sensor, a triple-tone LED flash, and optical image stabilization.


The phones boasts a 5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal storage, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Xiaomi Redmi 1s India - Unboxing - Exclusive

Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company after its huge success of Xiaomi Mi3 is ready to launch its new flagship device Redmi 1s - A budget powerhouse smartphone. Here, I have an exclusive Redmi 1s. The detailed review is coming up soon.










The mid-range device sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) screen resolution which reflects an effective pixel density of 312 PPI. The smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and has Corning's Gorilla Glass 2 protection.

The dual-SIM smartphone has a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 305 GPU. The Android based device also has MIUI v5 on top. The smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash which supports Full HD videos recording. Image clarity on the device even on dim-lighting situations is worth praising all thanks to the BSI sensor. Paired with the primary camera the device also sports a 1.6-megapixel front camera which is expected to please all selfie lovers. In addition, the secondary camera supports Hd video recording. The device also comes with an in-built FM Radio.

In terms of memory, the device has 1GB with an internal storage capacity of 8 GB which can be expanded up to a massive 64 GB using the microSD card slot present on board. Citing the connectivity options on the device, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S supports 3G connectivity along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 on the go. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Google Search, Gmail, Picasa, document viewer, image reader & editor, etc. The device is powered by a Li-Po 2000 mAh battery.

Vertu for Bentley - A Luxury Smartphone


Vertu is a British manufacturer and retailer of luxury mobile phones and Bentley Motors is a British luxury automaker. Bentley is teaming up with Vertu in a five-year partnership that will see the two firms work together to create ‘distinctive’ luxury smartphones.

Now previous Vertu smartphones have ran on Android, so it’s not far fetched to think that these won’t run Android as well. The smartphones will have a taste of Bentley, but also Bentley drivers will get some exclusive stuff with these four new smartphones. All of which are set to launch in October of this year.

Vertu says the new phones will feature elegant, eye-catching designs as well as premium materials in their construction. The phones will also be designed under the Vertu ethos of a ‘one world phone’ to ensure that owners have the optimum setup for peerless coverage no matter what region they’re in.

World's first Mobile phone with 5000mAh battery (1000 Hours Stand-by)

One of the most important characteristics that we look at a particular device is the battery and one of the most common complaints is that the battery does not last more than a day, especially when talking about high-end devices that are energy intensive.

Most flagships typically hold a maximum of two days and the battery manufacturers sacrifice on the altar of design.

How would you feel if you had a device which comes with a battery that reaches 5000mA; Next month will see these devices are certainly not coming from big companies like Samsung, Apple, Sony, HTC or LG but two rather unknown to us Chinese companies.

The first is the Chinese company Eton for which first heard April that prepares Eton Thor will have 5000mAh battery and will not be so bulky as to be expected, but its thickness will be in 9mm. As for technical features, has the octa-core chipset MediaTek MT6592, has 2GB RAM and Mali-450 GPU. However, it does not support LTE networks while we do not have any information on the screen.

The second company is also Chinese ThL (Technology Happy Life) which revealed the ThL 5000 the first Android smartphone that as seen from its name has 5000mAh battery. The ThL 5000 has 13MP sensor Sony IMX135. The ThL 5000 promises 1,000 hours standby, 47 hours talk time, 11 hours web browsing, 125 ώρες audio listening and 11.6 hours video play.

Both devices are expected to arrive in June with prices around $ 300 i.e. half of the current flagship.

IUNI U2: A $320 (INR 20K) Phone with Snapdragon 800, 3 GB RAM and 16MP Camera

IUNI, a spin-off brand of China's Gionee (known for making the current world's thinnest Smartphone), is preparing a very interesting handset IUNI U2 which has a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU, 3GB RAM, and a 4.7-inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 469PPI inside.



But that's not all. Reportedly, IUNI wanted to make the best single-handed metal-clad phone possible, so it machined a 0.4 inch (10.2mm) thick body that's 2.56 inches (65mm) wide and 5.38 inches (136.9mm) tall. There is a 10-degree fold at the phone's top and bottom, and the chamfer has a shiny "3D polish".


Perhaps the most interesting part about the IUNI U2, aside from its clean design, handy size, and powerful hardware, are the cameras. At the back, you have a 16 megapixel shooter with a f/2.2 aperture that is capable of recording 1080p videos in a full 60 fps frame rate. Flip it over and you will be greeted by a 4 megapixel f/2.0 camera. Don't let that number fool you, however, since the camera is actually an UltraPixel, the same technology being brandished by the HTC One, and soon the New HTC One. Perfect for those selfies.



The IUNI U2 will run on its own IUNI OS based on Android 4.3. IUNI say their OS is devoid of bloatware and clutter making it a fast and streamlined system.

Chinese E-commerce site Jingdong Mall will be selling the IUNI U2, the 32GB version with 3GB of RAM is just CN¥1, 999 (about $320) unsubsidized, whereas the 16GB version with 2GB RAM is just CN¥1, 799 (about $290). International sales yet unknown.

Karbonn to Launch Android-Windows Dual OS Smartphones

The desire of owning a mobile phone running on both Windows and Android is getting full-filled, the wonder is KARBONN is doing it. Karbonn is an Indian mobile phone making company which is famous for its budget phones.



Karbonn Mobiles is all set to launch dual-OS (operating system) devices, which will support both Android and Windows, by June.

The company has just signed the licence agreement with Microsoft to make Windows-based phones and will put this along with its existing Android system to bring out the dual-OS phones in about six months, the company's chairman Sudhir Hasija said.

Karbonn says that the new dual-OS device will be aimed at "office-going professionals and techies." The company currently imports its products from Taiwan and Korea, but is planning on opening a manufacturing facility in India. The company also announced that it plans on trying to bring in additional revenues by selling apps relating to Augmented Reality.

Chinese manufacturer Huawei introduced new Smartphone Ascend Mate 2 4G at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The Smartphone has a 4050 mAh battery, due to which the device is capable of so-called reverse charging - ability to charge the battery of your other mobile phones.

Project S - A 299$ Ideal Smartphone with High-End Specifications and Features

Sony's flagship phones have best Uni-body Design with water and dust resistance but the performance is not the best in the industry while Samsung phones have better features and performance but lacks good design. Still these phones are over priced. The best phones of any manufacturers may be the top-selling or they may have the best specifications in the industry but they are not IDEAL.


An Ideal phone is one which has top notch specifications, best in class Design, innovative features, maximum durability and is nominally priced.  

Project S is now a trending topic among tech enthusiasts because it is on the verge of manufacturing an Ideal Smartphone.

Display


The Phone features a 5.8" WQHD Display with the resolution of 2560x1440. The screen is protected with scratch resistant tempered glass.

Design

The has an ergonomic design which allow fingers easily grip. The Aluminum unibody Project S phones have double side scratch resistant glass like Sony Xperia Z. The phon e is just 7.6mm thick. Unlike SXZ the speakers and microphone are hidden to maintain the unibody design. The phone is dust and water resistant. Black and white colors are available.


Processor and Memory

This phone is a powerhouse, unlike Samsung phones it has True Octa-core processor optimized with ARM Big LITTLE Tech. The phones have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expandable up to 64GB using an SD card.

Camera



The phones boasts a 16MP camera with LED shutter which can record up to 2160p @30fps and it also has features like OIS, HDR, etc. The front 2MP camera is more than enough for video calls and its can also record 1080p videos @30fps.

Other Features


The phone has a built-in motion sensor which helps to control the phone without touching it using predefined gestures. The phones also have an IR blaster which can be used as a universal remote.

The phones also have features like WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, DLNA and Miracast. The phones are also wireless charging compatible.


We can see this Ideal Smartphone in the market only if the Project S gets enough funds. The fund raising is hosted by indiegogo. The phone will be priced at $299 unlocked.

Motorola Project Ara (Phonebloks) - WIN or FAIL ?


Phonebloks is a modular smartphone concept by Dutch designer Dave Hakkens. The modular design is intended to minimize electronic waste by allowing broken or outdated modules to be replaced. Phonebloks modules would each contain one of the major components of a smartphone such as the camera, battery, screen, and processor. Conceptually, blocks would connect to a main board and be secured in place with two screws.




Phonebloks was proclaimed as the "Most Innovative Smartphone concept which would definitely fail" by many of the techies around the globe. But now the scenario has changed, the probability of getting modular phones has increased since Motorola announced that they are working on a modular phone similar to Phonebloks.



Motorola was the first company to manufacture Mobile phones and it has got proficiency in mobile tech. Since Motorola is a Google owned company, Google will put its engineering expertise and funds into this Project. Thus, Project Ara can be a reality.



Let's assume that Motorola has finally manufactured a modular phone and its available in the market. Based on these assumptions, I'll discuss whether an ordinary customer will buy the Motorola Ara or not.

A customer will buy the Motorola Ara because:
  • It will be a unique phone in the market and first phone of its kind, so there will be an urge to buy this phone.
  • Its HARDWARE can be upgradable or customizable.
  • It lasts Longer.
  • Probably it will be running on Android since its made by Google, quick software up-gradation can be expected.
  • The phone intended to minimize electronic waste, so it's likely to influence people who have concerns about the environment.  

A customer will NOT  buy the Motorola Ara because:
  • The first electronic gadget of its kind when it comes to market, it will be costly. For example iPhone.
  • According to many Engineers the thickness of the modular phones will be much more when compared to the phones available now. So, nobody wants to buy a bulky phone.
  • The availability of the Modules will be less.
  • Competition from other mobile manufacturers
On the basis of the points mentioned above, we can clearly say that the probability of a customer buying a modular phone will be high. Thus on the basis of the assumptions which we made earlier we can say that Project Ara is a Winner.



But still we cannot say whether The Project Ara is a BIG Success or BIG failure of this Era.

"CEL" - A Phone with cool, quirky aesthetic and a straightforward, user-friendly interface!

CEL is a concept phone designed by Sankalp Sinha. As I said in the title of this article the CEL is Cool, the new design is Unique and stylish. The body of the CEL has been divided into two parts and both the parts can be rotated.


The CEL has been designed for just 4 Basic functionalities: Music, Photography, Fitness and Communication. This phone does "Unitasking" rather multitasking. You have buttons to do everything on this phone. It has dedicated music keys, camera button, Volume control buttons, and numerical keypad and arrow keys for scrolling.

CEL has MicroSD card slot, 3.5mm headset jack and USB connectivity. The Phone is just 10mm thick and weighs just 100gm. The Speakers has been placed below the CEL.

When it comes to software The CEL has Homescreen, Calling and SMS Interface, Camera interface, Music Player and Fitness manager. The Music player has 3 interface to Control the current playing song, to select the albums and to change the settings. The music player can be switched on easily by flipping the phone. The CEL has built-in Pedometer which acts as Fitness manager.












The Designer has not specified the technical hardware specifications and the software on which it is running on.
