Top 5 Improved features of Android 4.3 on Google Nexus 4

"TOP 5" is one of the most interesting sections on RK WORLD and here is an add on to this section. In this article, I would like to talk only about the features of Android 4.3 which has been IMPROVED specifically for the most economical and coolest Android device Google Nexus 4.

5) Notification Access

Notifications have been a staple Android feature from the very beginning. After adding expanding notifications in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, there are now more ways to deal with an appointment or a missed call. For instance, by making an appointment in the Calendar to go for a run, the reminder will pop up in the notification bar and provide the options to see the location of the run in Maps or simply Snooze the event reminder. It improves an already great way to avoid launching another app to deal with the notification.

4) Bluetooth Smart Ready Support

Android 4.3 introduces built-in platform support for Bluetooth Smart Ready in the central role and provides a standard set of APIs that apps can use to discover nearby devices, query for Generic Attribute Profile (GATT) services, and read/write characteristics. The APIs are generic, so developers will be able to create apps to support interactions with a variety of devices such as proximity tags, watches, fitness meters, game controllers, remote controls, health devices, and more.

3) New Camera UI and features

Last month I had given you the link to download Android 4.3 camera and also reviewed it. You can check it out here.

Android 4.3 also offers a new updated Camera app that features a new arch based menu which makes it easier to control and switch camera settings.

2) Improved Android Security

Recently, Bluebox, a security company revealed the security flaws in Android operating system. Bluebox claimed that vulnerability in Android’s security model could allow attackers to convert 99 percent of all applications into a Trojan.

Now Google has took a serious action regarding this. Google has introduced a new feature which is apparently called as App Ops. App Ops lets users to toggle app permissions — such as location and the ability to post notifications — on and off for individual apps. For example, you can specifically modify your location preferences for an application, despite the permissions to your location services.

The permission feature, however, is in its beta stage and may be a little complicated for the average user to navigate all the capabilities. Despite that issue, increased navigation is definitely an upshot for Android users.

1) OpenGL ES 3.0 for High-Performance Graphics

Android 4.3 now supports Khronos OpenGL ES 3.0 which provides highest-performance in 2D and 3D graphics. OpenGL ES 3.0 features acceleration of advanced visual effects, high quality ETC2/EAC texture compression as a standard feature, a new version of the GLSL ES shading language with integer and 32-bit floating point support, advanced texture rendering, and standardized texture size and render-buffer formats. This up-gradation generates astounding impressions, blossom lighting, self-shadow consequences for 3d articles and enhanced surfaces.
