Rooting LG Optimus Me P350 Using GingerBreak
Requirements
- LG Optimus Me P350 running Android 2.2 Froyo
- USB Debugging enabled on your phone
- A properly formatted SD card inserted into the phone
- A file explorer app installed on your phone (e.g., ASTRO File Manager, ES File Explorer, and the like)
Steps for Rooting with GingerBreak
- Download the GingerBreak APK file from here. Install it on your phone
- Launch the GingerBreak app.
- Tap “Root device” under “Options”.
- Wait for a few moments.
- If the rooting succeeded, your phone will reboot. Again, wait for a few minutes (around 10 minutes) for your phone to reboot. It will take that long because the rooting script will also wipe the cache.
- Check whether the Superuser app has been successfully installed and is working on your phone. If Superuser app exists and works on your phone, your phone is rooted.
Alternative Method for Rooting LG Optimus Me P350
If the GingerBreak solution fails to work for you, you can try this alternate solution. This one requires some fiddling with commands on a command prompt, but the steps should be easy to follow.Requirements
- LG Optimus Me P350 running Android 2.2 Froyo
- ASTRO File Manager app (available on Android Market) installed on the phone
- Windows PC running either Windows XP or Windows 7
- LG USB drivers for Optimus Me P350 installed on your computer
- USB Debugging enabled on your phone
- USB cable for connecting your phone to your PC
- Rooting package (get it from here and extract the ZIP file’s contents to your desktop)
Steps
- Use ASTRO File Manager to back up all data on your phone.
- Hard reset your phone. One way to do this is to go to System > Privacy > Erase all data. The other method is to turn off your phone, then turn it back on by pressing the Home button, Volume Down button, and Power button at the same time.
- Connect your phone to your PC.
- Open the folder where you extracted the rooting package to. You will find a folder inside it called ADB. Open the ADB folder.
- If you’re on Windows XP, double-click “cmdXP.exe” to open a command prompt. (Use “cmd7.exe” for Windows 7.)
- At the command prompt, type the following commands one at a time (press Enter key after each line):
- adb devices
- adb shell
- When
the symbol on the command prompt changes to either $ or #, type the
following command exactly as shown and then press Enter afterward:
- echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
- Reboot your phone.
- On your desktop, find “SuperOneClick.exe” inside the folder where you extracted the rooting package to.
- Double-click on “SuperOneClick.exe” to run it.
- Select “GingerBreak” from the Exploit pull-down menu.
- Press the Root button.
- Wait for a few moments.
- Reboot your phone.
- Check whether the Superuser app has been successfully installed and is working on your phone. If Superuser exists and works on your phone, your phone is rooted.
Note : After rooting delete all the unzipped contents permanently before shutting down your PC and if you can delete , stop the process running related to them using task manager.
Note : i'm not responsible if u brick your device or if you damage your PC.
