Top 5 Weird Nokia Mobile Phones

Nokia was the biggest seller of mobile phones before the rise of Androids. Nokia released its weirdest handsets in the mid 2000s. In fact, those were the years when most manufacturers made unusual phones. That’s because there were a lot of buttons that needed to be included on the front (or sides) of devices. Plus, there was no standard form factor for handsets. Flip phones, candy bars, sliders, swiveling phones - everything was a go, and manufacturers often combined design elements from these form factors.

I'm presenting my Top 5 Weird Nokia Phones and let me know which is your favorite. 

1. Nokia 7600

Nokia launched the 7600 (as its second 3G-capable phone) in the year 2003. The 7600 had bulky, leaf-like design which made it uncomfortable to hold in hand and it had a 2-inch display with 128 x 160 pixels, and a VGA camera.

2. Nokia 3620

The 3620, overall design resembling a TV remote control was released in 2003 Sporting screens with 176 x 208 pixels and Symbian Series 60 - thus being a smartphone.

3. Nokia 7280

Nokia 7280, aka the lipstick phone, literally looks like a lipstick - a quite large one, we must say. Released in 2005, the 7280 is just a feature phone, not a smartphone. It offers a small display with 208 x 104 pixels, and doesn’t have a keypad, instead providing a Navi-Spinner which makes text input a frustrating experience.

4. Nokia N-Gage

Nokia has been trying to create a portable gaming device, which resulted in a release number N-Gage in 2003. However, the device was not accepted by critics for several reasons, mainly because of the shape of the hull. Succeeded by N-Gage, released under the name N-Gage QD, was announced in 2004, but the company did not manage to change the opinion of users about the game series N-Gage.

5. Nokia E70, 6822, 6820, 6810, 6800

Introduced in 2002,  Nokia E70, 6822, 6820, 6810, 6800 were designed specially for SMS: the special design of the devices provide access to a full QWERTY-keyboard. Nokia E70, released in 2005, was considered a high-end device which was priced about $500 (₹30000) and was equipped with a 2.1-inch display with a resolution 416 X 352 pixels, 64 MB internal memory, 3G module and Wi-Fi, as well as 2 - megapixel camera.

As surprising as it might be, with over 250 million total sales, the basic dirt-cheap Nokia 1100 is actually the world’s most popular phone. Not just this - the Nokia 1100 is actually the best selling electronic gadget ever!

The Nokia 1100 had a monochrome display with support for 4 lines of text and a resolution of 96 x 65 pixels. It had no browser, no camera, no mobile data, basically, it was just a phone for calling and texting and it had 2 games on board, one of them being famous 'Snake'.

Among top smartphones, though, it’s probably no surprise that the Apple iPhone 5s is the single most popular gadget. Analysts estimate there are over 100 million iPhone 5s sold and that number will surely continue to grow, so we would not be surprised if one day in the future the iPhone 5s actually surpasses the Nokia 1100. This is just a guess, though, and even if that was to happen, it’d take years.

Nokia X Running Android 4.1 Spotted

Nokia X (Normandy), has appeared on the CamSpeed database, the benchmark test of Sofica, with a pretty good score, indicating a fixed focus camera on the back, where the focusing time is essentially zero.

The forked Android-powered handset is said to sport a 5 MP snapper, though the resolution used for the CamSpeed test is 3 MP. It also should have 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory expanded by a microSD card slot, as well as a 1500 mAh battery. It will be available in a dual-SIM version, codenamed RM-980, which is the one appearing on CamSpeed, and will arrive in six jolly colors, aimed at teens and emerging markets.

Nokia is allegedly reshuffling its MWC event plans after it became clear that Samsung decide to pull the Galaxy S5 unveiling forward to the expo timeframe, so it's unclear if and when Normandy will be unleashed. It is expected to be announced as part of the Asha family, presenting an interesting twist of fate for Nokia's budget portfolio, as it will be its first commercial handset with Android on it, albeit evidently a highly modified one.

Top 5 reasons why Sony Xperia Z1 is a Nokia Lumia 1020 killer

Nokia Lumia 1020 and Sony Xperia Z1 are the top-notch camera Smartphones.  But Sony Xperia Z1 has a much more jaw-dropping features which satisfy both the average consumers and the Geeks.

Nokia lumia 1020 features 41MP camera, PureView sensor with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. The Camera resolution is 7712 x 5360 pixels and it comes with standard auto focus. The sensor size is 1/1.5 inch, f-number/aperture is f/2.2, and the focal length is 26 mm and Camera minimum focus range 15 cm.

While Sony Xperia Z1 features Sony’s award-winning “G Lens” with a 27mm wide angle and bright F2.0 aperture, custom made large 1/2.3-type CMOS image sensor Exmor RS for mobile with 20.7MP and a BIONZ for the mobile image processing engine. The combination of these technologies delivers the same level of quality and performance as a conventional compact digital camera in a slim, waterproof Smartphone.

Since both phone features high end cameras with their own capabilities, let's consider it as a tie. Let's look at other aspects of the phones which makes Sony Xperia Z1 a better phone than Nokia Lumia 1020.


5. Build quality and design

The bulging camera module on Nokia Lumia 1020's back won't look good and also it irritates while handling. The build and finish quality are certainly among the best in business, although we have to admit the design isn't as striking as it was nearly a year ago, when the Lumia 920 launched. 

But Sony Xperia Z1 has the premium design and build quality. A solid one-piece aluminium frame with tempered glass on the front and back ensures beauty and durability.

4. Operating System

Sony Xperia Z1 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean while Lumia 1020 runs on Winodws phone 8. Now a days Most of the people will prefer Android over iOS/Windows because of the versatile nature of the open source operating system Android. Thus the OS of Nokia Lumia 1020 can be its downside.

3. Waterproofing capabilities

Water-proof Smartphones is now a latest trend in the Smartphone industry. Everyone wants to check the mails or social networks even while bathing. The Z1 is IP55/IP58 rated and thus most of the customers tend to buy Z1 rather Lumia 1020.

2. Display

 Nokia Lumia 1020 has 4.5" 720p AMOLED display which can't be compared with Sony Xperia Z1's 5" 1080p TRILUMINOUS display. The pixel density of Z1 is much higher than 1020. Thus the display is also one of the downsides of Lumia 1020.

1. Processor and Performance
 Nokia Lumia 1020 is powered by Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor. This is just bullshit,  a $880 phone with just a dual core processor. A geek or a gamer will never consider to buy this phone.

But the Sony Xperia Z1 is the real the beast which is powered by 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which is the best in its class.

Nokia Lumia 1020's 41MP Camera's Complete Technical Specifications and features

Nokia is suffering falling sales from past few years. This fall occurred mainly due emerging of Android phones with lot of innovative features. But now Nokia is back in action with its new flagship phone, Nokia Lumia 1020. This masterpiece from Nokia has 41MP Camera which can be a biggest feature for its sales.

In this article, I specifically talk or write about the features and specifications of the Camera of Nokia Lumia 1020.

Technical Specifications:

The Main Camera of Nokia Lumia 1020 has 41MP, PureView sensor with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. The Camera resolution is 7712 x 5360 pixels and it comes with standard auto focus. The sensor size is 1/1.5 inch, f-number/aperture is f/2.2, and the focal length is 26 mm and Camera minimum focus range 15 cm. The 41MP Camera take snaps in JPEG format.

The Camera is fitted with Xenon flash which has 4.0 m of operating range and it has modes like Off, Automatic and on.

The Camera has Video and Still camera modes. It also includes Scene modes like Automatic, Night Portrait, Sports, Night, Close-up and Backlight. The White balance modes are Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Daylight and Automatic. The Light sensitivity of the camera is Automatic, ISO 100, ISO 200, ISO 400, ISO 800, ISO 1600 and ISO 3200.

The Nokia Lumia 1020’s PureView Camera is made using advanced floating lens technology which takes in five times more light than competing smartphones without using flash, making it possible to capture the best pictures and videos even at night. 

Nokia Lumia 1020’s camera features Back-illuminated sensor. A back-illuminated sensor, also known as backside illumination (BSI or BI) sensor, is a type of digital image sensor that uses a novel arrangement of the imaging elements to increase the amount of light captured and thereby improve low-light performance.

The camera has 6-lens optics. This compound lens is a collection of simple lenses of different shapes and made of materials of different refractive indices, arranged one after the other with a common axis. The 6-lens optics reduces optical aberrations to take Perfect photos. 

Lenses get their zoom rating by taking the ratio between the longest and shortest focal lengths. So for example a 35-105mm lens will be rated as 3X (105/35 =3).  The Camera of Nokia Lumia 1020 allows to magnify the image up to 3x bigger using its 3X High resolution zooming abilities.

Top 5 Most Expected Mobile phones of 2013

In the year 2013, many expectations have been set up in mobile world. The expectations include FullHD 1080p displays, Flexible displays, Octa core processors, long Battery life, etc. Among those most expected featured mobile phones, I have chosen 5 Top mobile phones.

5. LG Optimus G Pro
        After the selling 1000000 LG optimus G s, LG has started working on its next version which is known as LG Optimus G Pro or LG Optimus G2 is expected to release this fall.

 LG Optimus G Pro features 5” 1080p LCD screen with the pixel density of 441ppi, 1.7GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM and 13MP Camera. All these high-end specs have created many expectations. Read more about LG Optimus G Pro here.

4. Apple iPhone 5S
           Apple’s iPhone was the most expected mobile phone every year but not this year because of its rivals Samsung Galaxy series phones. Same old design and high price made the Apple iPhone 5 a flop.

Sony Xperia Z regarded as the Precision Engineered fullHD smartphone. The Phone has set fire in the mobile industry. It was one of the best Gadgets of CES 2013. Sony has put up its best to create this Smartphone. Its wonderful display, tempered glass design, camera with Exmos RS sensor, water and dust proof features makes it best of best smartphone.

          Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which I call as monster android Phablet because this phone has got 6.3” big display and 8-core processor. Sony Xperia Z is the made from best of Sony while Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be made from best of Samsung. Due to the huge success of Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and also because of its extraordinary features Note is the most expected Mobile phone of 2013.

Rumors says that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features 6.3” 1080p FullHD OMEGA Amoled display, 1.8GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor, 4GB RAM, 16/32GB storage which is expandable up to 64GB, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and 5000mAh battery.  The Phone is expected to release sometime in 2013.

Microsoft Surface with Windows RT

 For 37 years now, Microsoft has built software for other companies’ devices. With the Surface tablet, which starts at $499, it finally designed a PC of its own — one of the sleekest, most ambitious devices ever to run Windows. The magnesium case looks and feels good and the integrated kickstand is beautifully done. And the super-thin magnetic keyboard cover — included with the $599 Surface, or $119.99 on its own —  is way better than on-screen typing. There’s one big catch: Windows RT, Surface’s operating system, needs far more applications before it’s ready to compete with the iPad. But the device itself is so slick that it leaves you rooting for RT to take off.


Nike + FuelBand

It may seem that FuelBand went on sale for a long time, but in fact was the strength of the year, if not less. In our review of the gadget's all written as detailed as possible, and add nothing special to me - he said the steps made to move, can show you the time synchronized via Bluetooth with a variety of devices and long running in standalone mode. If you want a normal thing to keep track of the activity, without FuelBand not do.

iPhone 5

The camera, with a particularly well-done panorama mode, is another highlight. There are lots of nifty smartphones out there, including the iPhone’s impressive archrival, Samsung’s Galaxy S III. But when it comes to melding hardware, software and services so tightly that the seams fade away, Apple still has no peer.

Nokia Lumia 920

If you suddenly want to step back away from all of the current trends, stand out, tired of "Galaxy" and "iPhones", there is one gadget that appeared this year. Just for those who are fed up with everything. This Nokia Lumia 920. The device can not be called the best, so as to buy is not easy - the deficit. Not because of sour cream, but because very few deliver. Here Windows Phone, a good camera, interesting design, most importantly, it is a toy for the rare enthusiasts willing to buy something for the sake of interest to technology. May be willing to support their favorite group. Help financially. Participate. In the end, you can estimate the risks and benefits, to think, to buy Samsung Galaxy SIII, or iPhone 5 at the same time and the Nokia 1280 (just in case). And so it will help.


Nokia 1280

Ideal second phone and the best phone Nokia this year, there is a place and design, and functionality, and price is one of the best, only 700 rubles! No problems with the synchronization, installation programs and other nonsense, here simply do not need to synchronize and set the program. Let's hope next year to make the model Nokia Nokia 1280i, adding there is one game or xenon lamp.
