Nokia Lumia 1020's 41MP Camera's Complete Technical Specifications and features





Nokia is suffering falling sales from past few years. This fall occurred mainly due emerging of Android phones with lot of innovative features. But now Nokia is back in action with its new flagship phone, Nokia Lumia 1020. This masterpiece from Nokia has 41MP Camera which can be a biggest feature for its sales.

In this article, I specifically talk or write about the features and specifications of the Camera of Nokia Lumia 1020.



Technical Specifications:

The Main Camera of Nokia Lumia 1020 has 41MP, PureView sensor with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. The Camera resolution is 7712 x 5360 pixels and it comes with standard auto focus. The sensor size is 1/1.5 inch, f-number/aperture is f/2.2, and the focal length is 26 mm and Camera minimum focus range 15 cm. The 41MP Camera take snaps in JPEG format.

The Camera is fitted with Xenon flash which has 4.0 m of operating range and it has modes like Off, Automatic and on.

The Camera has Video and Still camera modes. It also includes Scene modes like Automatic, Night Portrait, Sports, Night, Close-up and Backlight. The White balance modes are Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Daylight and Automatic. The Light sensitivity of the camera is Automatic, ISO 100, ISO 200, ISO 400, ISO 800, ISO 1600 and ISO 3200. 

Features:

Nokia Lumia 1020’s camera features Optical image stabilization technology which can now only be seen in some mobile phones like Samsung galaxy S4 Zoom and HTC One. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system of 1020’s camera provide the best possible stabilisation for when the phone is handheld. That means you get reduced blur in your pictures – both at night and when your hands are unsteady.

The Nokia Lumia 1020’s PureView Camera is made using advanced floating lens technology which takes in five times more light than competing smartphones without using flash, making it possible to capture the best pictures and videos even at night. 

Nokia Lumia 1020’s camera features Back-illuminated sensor. A back-illuminated sensor, also known as backside illumination (BSI or BI) sensor, is a type of digital image sensor that uses a novel arrangement of the imaging elements to increase the amount of light captured and thereby improve low-light performance.

The camera has 6-lens optics. This compound lens is a collection of simple lenses of different shapes and made of materials of different refractive indices, arranged one after the other with a common axis. The 6-lens optics reduces optical aberrations to take Perfect photos. 

Lenses get their zoom rating by taking the ratio between the longest and shortest focal lengths. So for example a 35-105mm lens will be rated as 3X (105/35 =3).  The Camera of Nokia Lumia 1020 allows to magnify the image up to 3x bigger using its 3X High resolution zooming abilities.
